I call it Redditopia.
It started as a quick weekend project to teach myself the WinRT programming model. But after I bought my first tablet(Surface RT), I kept craving that one more feature and have now spent more weekends(and nights) on this than originally planned.
It has enough features now and I feel confident in introducing it to this audience. Give it a try and do let me know if you like it.

I don't know how you feel about factory refurbs. In some cases they can be better than new since the factory has given them a full quality check, especially of there are no physical defects, but $300 off sticker is pretty compelling. Don't know if this was a one off, one store only deal but you might want to check your local stores and see if these are starting to slip into the pipeline. You have 14 days to return it if there is a problem.

NFL fans have probably noticed over the decades that officials, players and coaches on the sidelines are still using the old fashioned printed pictures of replays on laminated paper. It seems antiquated with today's technology, and apparently, the execs in the NFL agree. The NFL just announced a new partnership with Microsoft that will instead allow them to use MS Surface tablets on the sidelines.

This deal also apprarently extends to a logo licensing contract with Microsoft. A few teams have recently taken to using Apple iPads for this same functionality, and they will still be allowed to do so, but only if they cover up the Apple logo. It seems Microsoft wants only their Surface to be obvious on the sidelines of the big games. Smart marketing!

The latest video driver update broke almost all of the programs that I use for work (PyMol, Visual Molecular Dynamics, Xwin Server, AutoDock Tools), all of which was fixed by a rollback. I want to let them know about the compatibility problem so that they can fix it for the next iteration.

Frequently, (not always) the people hub on my Windows RT, Surface RT will fail to refresh. If I manually refresh (swipe up from bottom - touch Refresh) the app locks up and then restarts. Once it restarts it works fine. This seems to happen if I go to the app shortly after I wake it up from sleep. It rarely happens when the app first starts.

I've removed and reinstalled the app. I've reset my system to factory defaults. The problem persists.

Does anyone have a solution? Is there someplace I can look to see what caused the crash? Is there some other place I should look for help?
