precision mouse issue

Hello! I love love my Surface. Had them all since the RT! However, I bought a precision mouse this year $92.00 on Amazon and it worked for 3 months and now will only work if the cord is plugged to the computer. I deleted it , and installed it again -0-. no change. Before I send it back...
