2/4/16 firmware update?

Just checked for updates and got a 2/4/16 update. I just rebooted after installing. Interesting that an update came in..

It installed fine on my surface 3. Took 2 restart to complete.

It said mine didn't install the first time, so I rebooted then it installed properly & my S3 is running fine...although I have no idea what the firmware update did

It sorted itself out. I guess it was just making sure the reboot logic path was in order

The following update will be listed as “System Firmware Update – 2/4/2016” when you view your update history.

• Surface UEFI update (v1.51116.78.0) recalibrates touch panel.

• Surface Touch Controller Firmware update (v4.251.60.0) recalibrates touch panel.

• Surface Platform Power Driver update (v2.1.36.1) improves charging.

My Credit Card charging is much faster now ... D'Oh

Got the update as well. Then it rebooted and mentioned it couldn't install the update. Let's do another restart.

Greyfox is it actually charging faster or are you being sarky? I've sent off my S3 so havent had this update (Obv)

Yes, had to reboot mine as well. First time I got the message updates were not installed.

I haven't charged yet since doing the update this morning... well I did while I was out but I have no idea how long it took to charge. Yes that was snarky.

Yeah, I needed to reboot again as well. Says it installed successfully this time. I'll report back on the charging speed, but what's all the recalibration stuff supposed to help with? Touchscreen responsiveness? Touchscreen speed? Touchscreen accuracy????
