Anyway, since he doesn't have the receipt for it (it was purchased some time in December by his company), is it still possible for me to buy Microsoft Complete for it? Also, any idea how the warranty would work without the original proof of purchase?

When I went to register it online I had an opportunity to purchase MS complete which I didn't pass up. It's super simple and I don't think you'll have a problem with it.

Just don't drop it pulling it out of the box. No joke it's happened to several people here.

Picked it up this morning! I was in for a surprise! Turns out its an i7/256GB.. not an i5/256gb like he advertised. Hey I'm not complaining! Paid $1000 for this i7/256gb + type cover

Even more interesting.. I went to register it and see if I can buy warranty. Found out the warranty expires March 2016 and I have 98 days to buy Microsoft complete up from the standard 45 days. Warranty also seems longer than the usual 1 year haha
