Audio / headphone problem after video driver update

Just installed the latest Nvidia drivers (using Geoforce Experience) on my Surface Book 2 15" and now the audio through my headphones (both from the audio jack on my Surface and from my external monitor) is muddied. Any suggestions? I rolled back the video drivers for the 1060, reinstalled etc. but nothing works! Just for info, the driver for the 1060 is 24.21.13.9811 and for Realtek is 6.0.1.8242.

Can you explain muddied? Are you getting static, completely garbled audio? Can you understand voice output at all? One thing I would try is to uninstall the Surface Book 2 Drivers and re-install them. Have you considered removing the NVIDIA Drivers in question and reloading an older, know-good version?
