Battery information

What should i look for in my task manager to see whats eating up my battery power.
The CPU of Memory column where it shows % is where to look to see which application is eating away at the battery life.

powercfg /batteryreport
powercfg /sleepstudy
powercfg /energy

Run from an elevated CMD Prompt, copy reports to your Documents folder from C:\Windows\System32 open in IE and look through the reports to narrow down what is killing your battery.

Known Culprits:

  • Google Chrome
  • Google Services (Drive, etc.)
  • Some Antivirus Suites
  • Some older 2.4GHz Mouse Dongles
  • Some older models of Bluetooth Mouse
  • Legacy Win32 Code that won't suspend for Connected Standby
