Do I have to charge the SP3 8 hours on my 1st charge ?
Hmm, let me think on that a few hours, ill get back to you...
That sounds like a general recommendation meant to cover most all situations...
Id say if it hits 100% and switches from plugged in charging to plugged in not charging your definitely good to go.
If you get to 100% and charging ... go ahead it wont really hurt.
If you're still at 80% id at least wait till it gets to 90-95% or more... see what I did there
Is making me late
Is keeping me waiting...

The answer is no. Current' batteries do not suffer from memory effect.
that is false, Toshiba has reported that batteries do in fact suffer from memory effect, but not as much as the NiCad batteries, the rule of thumb is and which I practice religiously is charge the battery to full then completely discharge and fully charge to 100% and do this for the first 3 charging cycles... then after your ok and good to go.
