Here is a tool that I have been testing lately and can help those with battery "issues".

The economy mode will configure your SP3 to get the maximum battery life possible.

Can someone explain what indexing does?

I'd like to understand the choices I make if I in-check.

Thanks

do you like what you see so far? I downloaded it but got a bit nervous about the power config ops as I don't know how they'll interact with connected standby and the SP3 restrictions generally. i don't care a wit about CS, so if this turns that off so much the better

Also curious to see if you like tune up. I downloaded and installed and don't notice much of a difference (though I haven't had time to do any controlled testing).

Got annoyed with Windows Defender constantly hovering around 0.3%-0.5% in task manager, even in idle mode. So I installed Kaspersky Anti-virus 2015 and now that "problem" is solved. Other anti virus programs might also be less CPU intensive than Windows Defender.

Now I just have to solve the problem with System and System interrupts sometimes going haywire and hog 20%-25% of the CPU. The only remedy for that is to either restart or play some music. I guess it's an old problem, probably to do with the Realtek drivers, but it didn't help after I installed the latest Realtek HD drivers.
