inking issues

Hi I am running a SP3 128gb i5 windows 8.1. My issue I am having is when using the stylus and one note, if the computer is plugged into an outlet I can not write with the pen. The ink disappears, I can not write full words and when I go to erase, a bunch of dots appear. I can only write when the device is unplugged and the keyboard is attached (flipped over). I use the device daily for 10-15hrs/day. It is about 1 week old. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, did you get it fixed? I called microsoft, they said it was a pen issue, they sent me a new a pen and it is still happening. Thanks in advance
