Yes, the RT has a different plug altogether. The Pro uses Mini-Display Port for video output as opposed to the RT's Micro HDMI.

Yeah, should work fine. I personally use this retractable HDMI cable along with the previously mentioned adapter. Keeps things a little neater in my bag o' stuff.

Any Mini-display port to anything your other display can accompany is fine, Cables CABLES TO GO, nGear Technologies Inc., Startech.com, Ion Cables, BitFenix for Canadians and Americans that don't want to pay more than $10 for MS's $40 M-DP to Female HDMI A/V Adapter. They pricematch the big ones, and have their own, cheap brand that works fantastic.

Tried one made for a Mac with no luck. Will there be one from Microsoft? I know the off brand Apple Minidisplay to VGA work and Microsoft has their version as well, really want to just use HDMI in one situation.

I bought the HDMI cord made for the MAC and it works great. It only cost me around 6.21 delivered and no adapter needed.
