It's my theory. Apple has updated MacBook Air and Microsoft haven't updated Surface Pro, so my theory is that Microsoft will be always one year behind Intel's new chips and Apple won't.

Well its obvious MS is trying to clear RT stock with the drop in price to consumers. Plus there is a new educational deal at the mment where schools in the uk can buy an unlimited number of RTs for 133 pounds plus VAT or 168 if they want the touch cover. As opposed to 399 without cover before price drop. We have 3 clients that have already ordered 100+ between them already and another who are considering 90...

Maybe they are trying to up the popularity before releasing the next wave.

I think the best thing they could do is discount them little by little until the sell all of them. They need these devices in people's hands as soon as possible to create more demand for apps. Plus, I'm fairly confident that when actual people use the Surface RT, they will realize that its actually a great device.
