update kills my battery. I charged up my sp2 last night, used for a short period to time today and then turned it off, not sleep or hibernate with the battery showing 90% battery left. Turned it on tonight and battery is dead. I trying a system restore to rectify this. Restored back to before update. Installed everything but firmware, back to normal.

Today Saturday December 14, the failed update from December 10 showed again as installable in the update list. The update itself took no time at all compared to the one from a few days ago. And now its status is installed.

However, I then encountered the battery charging problem (which did not occur after the failed update) discussed in this thread: http://www.surfaceforums.net/forum/microsoft-surface-pro-2/7254-battery-charging-problem-new-firmware.html Fortunately, the volume+ / power button for 15 seconds helped in my case, too.
