I just got a surface pro 3 and I'm having an issue with iTunes. When I go into the apps under purchased apps in iTunes, I get the error message that iTunes has stopped working. Any ideas?

When reinstalling use the 64-bit version.

Haven't seen that one before. I'd go along with kundas1's uninstall/reinstall suggestion.

When you go to iTunes.com and select Download iTunes, it should automatically have the 64-bit version selected for download.

It works fine on the Surface Pro, so definitely take the suggestion and uninstall then reinstall.

You will get this fixed, I'm sure. iTunes works very well on the Surface Pro 3.

I have no issue with iTunes on my SP3. Yeah, I would recommend uninstall and reinstall as well.
