Not seeing the Type cover at boot up

This has just recently happened that sometimes the type-cover keyboard is not recognized. When I go to the "Password" page, the OSK pops up and the cover keyboard does nothing. If I hide the OSK, the cover still is not useable.

If I click "Restart" then it will find the type cover.

Thoughts on fixing this?
