Opening PDFs

I have a basic Microsoft Surface and am trying to open up a pdf that was emailed to me, but I keep getting the screen on the Reader telling me to download Adobe Reader 9 (which is impossible on Windows RT). I downloaded another PDF reader app but got the same Adobe message screen. Suggestions?

I've had the same problem. Try launching the PDF program before you try to read the PDF attachment. After running the program, your computer should associate the program with the PDF file format. It worked for me. Hopefully, it will for you.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm trying that, but still getting the screen urging me to download Adobe Reader 9. I'll keep plugging away, but thanks very much.
