Hi

how i can get this situation?

I want that my Keyboard backlight is permantly on if screen is on.
Also it must off if there is enough area light that no backlight is needed.

May Macbook is working on that way.

Thanks for help.

No expert here, but I believe keyboard back-lighting is strictly manual. You have to turn it on or off manually. I don't believe you can set it to come on only when the screen is on or for the back-lighting to turn off when the light increases in the room.

Hi

yes backlight is only going on if you press on keyboard. Not all the time.
So if the room is dark and read something on the screen, it will dim it too fast. So you didnt see anything on it.

so i want the situation that keyboard light is always on when screen is on.

Perhaps a 3rd party app might offer something like you want. I haven't looked for any so I don't know if they exist or not.

Dell offers such tool for their laptops.
But didn´t found anything as a third-party tool yet.
Hope some can help out here.

I assume you're not using the Surface keyboard/cover, it comes on when you pass your hand over it. The power cover has no backlight.

All of the Gen 2 (with the exception of the Power Cover) and later covers have a light senor and proximity sensor to activate the backlit keys, the are controlled at the Cover Firmware level... third party software would be doubtful.
