Problem keeping ebook from library signed in on Overdrive

I have no problem downloading ebooks from my library into Overdrive. However, once I'm reading a book, if I go to email or some other app, when I return to overdrive, the page is frozen. The only way to reactivate the book is by either shutting down my Surface RT and rebooting it, or going back to the Overdrive site on the internet and downloading it again. I didn't have this problem until I upgraded to the new Windows 8 several months ago. What's the solution?

I have the same problem. I have Overdrive on 3 different devices and 3 different OS's and have different issues on all of them. For this issue, I hit the back arrow to go back to the My Collection page and then reopen the book. This works, for me.
