Microsoft has released a replacement update for 2982791, and is recommending that you uninstall the old version and then let Windows Update install the new replacement version

I think I am seeing an improvement to an issue of "stuttering" after coming out of sleep. But I've only tried it once since this morning.

I did as recommended and found KB2982791 and uninstalled it. After checking for updates, the usually daily Defender and Dictionary updates got listed along with a new security update, KB 2993651. I don't know if this new security update is the one that is to replace the one I uninstalled or not.

Dang, my "stutter" issue is back...

So, the replacement update didn't fix it

    Hello there.

My SP3 says that it needs to restart to continue installing the new KB2993651 update but I haven't uninstalled KB2982791 yet.

I never had any issues with KB2982791 but now today I've seen Graye's post and says we have to uninstall KB2982791 first.

Why do we need to uninstall first? What happens if we don't?
    Shouldn't KB2993651 do that?
How can I uninstall KB2982791 at this point when it is pending restart? Is it too late for me?

    Thanks!

I never heard anything about uninstalling or anything first, and I just let it install normally. My SP3 seems to be fine.
