SP3 will not recognize a new SP4 keyboard

I have a SP3 and one of my keys on the original keyboard quit working so I bought a new SP4 keyboard and for some reason the computer will not recognize the new keyboard/touchpad. I have tried the Power down/volume up restart and that has not helped. It recognizes the original keyboard just not the new one. Anyone have any ideas?

Mine worked fine first time. However have you tried opening device manager to see if there are any unknown devices, and have you tried running Windows update, just in case.

But it certainly does work with the sp3 and s3.
