surface pro - cintiq 12wx

Hi i've got a 12wx and recently bought a surface pro. is there any way to connect the 12wx to the surface pro so i can use it as a lap top and use the 12wx as a high end input device? so could you link the VGA cable USB 3.0 to link the machines? i've also just ordered a Mini-HDMI to DVI connector to attach the cintiq.

You say Surface Pro, but mention a mini-hdmi to DVI cable... Surface Pro has a mini-displayport so that connector won't work. Also, where does VGA come into play?

If you plug the 12WX into the USB port of the Surface Pro and and use a mini-displayport to DVI adapter, I don't see why it wouldn't work...
