Im using my SP3 with OBS and I wanted to use a camera instead of the built in one. Is it possible to run a camera as an input through the mini display port? Is it output only?

    Thanks

I've never seen it, but in theory if the camera or device could use CeC Commands, but that connector is a half-duplex connection and has relatively low bandwidth. USB would be a better solution. Is there any reason you want to use the mDP Port?

As a side note, on the Surface 3 Microsoft added additional pins to the mDP port to allow data and power for their docking solution via the mDP port - but my understanding was that configuration was unique and proprietary to MS.
