I believe that their App Player has replaced their earlier versions of the virtualized Android Environment, this version is supposedly more user friendly and performs better.....

I found a link to download Bluestacks 0.8.4.3036 on PHPNuke. It claims to be a free download but may have a wrapped installer containing malware/bloatware. If you decide to try it make sure you download it into a disposable virtual machine first and see what you actually get.

App Player is bluestacks. I have fiddled around with it. Played Plants Vs Zombies 2, gmail, toddledo and it really works pretty well on my SP3.

I would suggest trying DuOS as an alternative. Full android environment, better performance than bluestacks. Granted its $10 after a 30 day trial, but has been well worth it to me.
