IT says the proxy stays!! Anyway to download (and launch) apps from Windows store through a proxy? I have apps noted that I "own" but I cannot download to Surface Pro or run them. (PS; computer illiterate)

    Welcome to the forum

I modified your title as that prefix is for solutions not for problems.

Is it not possible to take your Surface off site to install apps?

    Thanks for modifying the title.

What you posted doesn't look like you have a local proxy set but activating that script probably imliments company policies and may have the same effect. Try it without the script to see what happens, when off-site. Some other things may not work correctly while it's disabled but after updating you can enable it again.
