I usually use my MacBook Pro quad i7 to run GoPro studio and it works flawlessly. Today I rendered a 15 minute video at 1080p 60fps on my core m yoga 3 pro and the cup pegged at 100% for about 19 minutes. I decided to try the surface book i5, same result pegged the cpu at 100% for around 14 min. I looked up the cpu recommendations and they do recommend a quad i7.

Changing all your CUPs to CPUs ;);)

I believe Spock would have called those a Central Unit of Processing to be precise. (You have to hear it in your minds ear). ;)

Whoops. I hate when some device thinks it knows better than you what you are trying to say.

So how much coy does it use on the MacBook? Or does it have a dedicated gpu that it can offload to?

I'm not sure why the surprise though. Video editing was never a low intensity task.
