"You Say Hello, I Say Goodbye"

I was really impressed when I installed Windows Hello and it just worked.
Less impressed when I realised it was taking 2 hrs off my projected battery life, even when I am using the laptop. I can understand if it drained power when sleeping, waiting to be invoked - but why is it running at all when I'm logged in and using it?

Does your battery last longer when you use regular PIN and not Hello feature? I've yet to try disabling Hello but so far the book is lasting me all day on and off. I do have sleep switch to hibernate after 15 mins if that matters.
