    Upgrading My SP2 to SP4 i7… or i5? - How's Battery Consumption?

How is it silly? I have heard that the i7 got BETTER battery life than the i5 in the SP3.

    Upgrading My SP2 to SP4 i7… or i5? - How's Battery Consumption?

I find the time remaining figure to be useful... you just have to understand how to translate it, as you have described in your post. It's not gospel truth, just an estimate based on how you are using the computer at the time of the reading. Paying heed to the battery meter can help you adjust...

Haha, I wonder if that program would take my brand new $50 Amazon Fire tablet in on trade? If so, that would be pretty sweet.

    Upgrading My SP2 to SP4 i7… or i5? - How's Battery Consumption?

I guess I'm just going to have to hold off on my purchase until more people have had more of a chance to test these things out. The SP4 is certainly more of a want, than a need, but I don't want one if it's gonna kill my battery life. :(

Quick Advice on Surface Pro 4 M3

AMD is a great budget processor, I currently run one in my gaming PC, but AMD does almost nothing better than a comperable Intel does (for a higher price). To interpret the graphs in laymans terms, the i3 would be about twice as good as what he currently has, and the i5 would be about three...

Quick Advice on Surface Pro 4 M3

IMHO, RAM is the main reason to upgrade to the i5. If your brother uses virtual machines much in his programming, then he would likely appreciate 8GB w/ the i5. But to get that is an extra $400 over the i3 version. o_O My SP2 is fantastic, but even without running virtual machines, I often hit...

    Upgrading My SP2 to SP4 i7… or i5? - How's Battery Consumption?

Really? Only 5 hours? I get about 9-10 hours out of my SP2 on battery saver mode. Do you keep your screen pretty bright? Same here, if I'm not using my SP2 I either turn it off or put it in hibernation, never sleep mode.

    Upgrading My SP2 to SP4 i7… or i5? - How's Battery Consumption?

I love my Surface Pro 2! I'm going to provide some background here, but TLDR is at the bottom of the post. I've had my SP2 for over a year now, and while it's not exactly my primary computer, I find myself using it far more than I do my more powerful desktop. This is largely due to me being away...

    Surface pro 4 i5: 4gb or 8gb RAM?

I've been using my SP2 w/ 4GB for virtually everything for the last year and a half. It performs exceptionally... until the RAM runs out, which happens frequently. It's still useable even once the RAM is maxed out, but I'm definitely getting 8GB with my SP4. I think 16GB is probably overkill...

    Surface Pro 4 Reviews

I just can't agree with those reviews... I can do most of my gaming on my SP2 if I needed to, and I can do ALL my productivity work, including video editing, Photoshopping, Solidworks, Catia, etc.... I don't own a laptop, my SP2 does it all, and does it better than any laptop I've ever owned...

    Without Buttons it's not Pro

When I first heard they were deleting the windows button I was disappointed, but the more I thought about it, the more I'm ok with it. It gets in the way so often.....

Not an artist - will I ever use the pen?

I couldn't survive without my pen anymore. I occasionally draw with it, but I mostly use it for everything from taking notes (lots and lots of notes) excel, web browsing, signing pdf documents... anything you could think of. I'd never own another mobile computer without a digitizer.

    SP3 i7 vs SP4 i5?

Best I can tell, the new i3 performs about as well as the i5 I have in my Surface Pro 2... so I assume that the results could be similar with going from the old i7 to the new i5. Personally, I think because of the increased cooling capacity, an i5 SP4 would be an upgrade from an i7 SP3, but...
