I have a peripheral setup very similar to dkappelman with the exact same problems when using the dock with a slight twist. I'm having the same issues while using an SP4. So it does seem to be a dock problem.

I had the same problem (stuck @ 0%). This worked for me. I take no credit I found it on WinBeta. Task manager -> Services -> Windows Update (wuauserv) and restart the service Check for updates

I have streamed from my wife's computer using home share in the past. Though I haven't tried it in the past few months. iTunes has become such a smoking pile of you know what that I refuse to use it anymore.

A medium sized screen cleaning cloth placed on the tabletop would probably work.

While the heat pipe in the SP3 is probably one of the thinnest examples the tech isn't anything special. Just about every notebook on the market has something similar just on a larger scale.

I know this isn't going to go over well, but I had some other issues with Office recently. I tried all the fixes online and the only one that worked was to uninstall/install Office again. :(
