    Never-ending myriad of bugs

Afy, just take a look at this video of mine; it shows the scale of the problem. These are TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT units purchased from TWO DIFFERENT SOURCES (one from a Dutch MS online store, another from a local Polish store): Given this, how am I supposed to believe that me, my wife and my...

    Never-ending myriad of bugs

Well, there was some update installed yesterday, and guess what - today I couldn't move my Calendar App around the desktop again, and then couldn't enter text into Edge's address bar, so... no. I'm reinstalling Windows with a fresh image off the MS servers when I have some time to waste. Not...

Not quite - we both type a lot of stuff. But my machine compared to yours makes this simple activity very difficult at times.

    Never-ending myriad of bugs

Just spotted another ridiculous issue with wife's Surface: she suddenly lost the ability to MOVE ICONS AROUND THE F**** DESKTOP. This is getting more and more ridiculous. No, we don't have viruses circulating around our home network, and didn't install our systems from the same corrupted source.

Lucky you, then. Or - all you ever do on the device is watch cartoons, but I'm not implying that. Btw. in the previous post I meant "since 2015".

    Never-ending myriad of bugs

I don't really see a point, given that I have observed some of the bugs in my unit on the two other units we have in the family. How many corrupted system images there can be in the world? Have you seriously never had a problem with, say, copying text from Edge? It's a commonly known bug that's...

Are there any SP5 models WITHOUT lightbleed?

Don't look at it? Sure. Another brilliant suggestion: just don't buy anything from Microsoft, that P-O-S company which has the nerve to actually deliberately release a product with all of the batches having this serious flaw, and then not even admitting to it. To stay on topic, though: wife's...

    Never-ending myriad of bugs

Yeah, as if anyone ever cared about some damn Creators Update. The differences I personally noticed after installing it were marginal and not even worth the hassle (update) - by that I mean the contacts button (which I immediately disabled) and some useless transfer-stuff-from-smartphone-to-PC...

    Never-ending myriad of bugs

Thanks for the suggestion. Perhaps I didn't emphasize enough the fact that the mentioned bugs were noted in three different units of Surface Pro 2017, sourced from different places (two from a local electronics chain, but different stores, and one from the official Dutch MS online store). The...

    Never-ending myriad of bugs

My background: I'm a 26-year old translator. I've been into PCs since I was about 8. I vaguely remember the blinking white cursor on a white background in MS DOS, and my dad laughing at Microsoft's claims that their new systems would be free from freezes and such. Until Windows XP, which - as...

    Best protective accessories?

I got the Maroo leather case from Microsoft Store, and am pleased with its quality. It doesn't offer "panzer" protection, so I'm not sure it would suit you if you're really good with damaging things, though it's fine for protection from light to moderate rain and showing off in public without...

    Surface pro screen goes black

Sounds like a major issue... Try re-imaging the device maybe (in the emergency mode, or whatever it's called), and see if it helps.

Got 3 Surfaces, all with light bleed + general MS bashing

Method 2 from the link just worked on one Surface, but did not work on another with all settings identical... Not even surprised anymore. Windows proves again and again how unreliable it is, and how the most idiotic defaults are often impossible to alter easily. For someone running business and...

Got 3 Surfaces, all with light bleed + general MS bashing

The problem is she runs a business and 2 weeks without a proper computing machine ARE a big deal. And that's always the problem. Part of you wants to get things right for the $1500 you shelled out on your PC. But another part just desperately needs the machine for everyday stuff and tells you to...

Got 3 Surfaces, all with light bleed + general MS bashing

What sort of defect does your device have? I was really pissed with Microsoft lately, as the unit I gave my mom was actually a gift, and I was extremely disappointed to see the bleeding after unboxing. I was reluctant to tell her about this, given that she probably doesn't care, but the...

Got 3 Surfaces, all with light bleed + general MS bashing

Go and tell them this: Microsoft Community The notion that all LCDs have light bleed might be true, but what we're seeing in SP 2017s is a whole new level of light bleed, definitely uncommon in mobile devices, especially this premium. And plus, I'm not talking about just one unit's problem...
