Any way to fix the power button not working the first try?

Sometimes I have to:

1. push the power button (keyboard lights turn on, surface stays off)
2. wait 20 seconds ish
3. push power again, then surface turns on instantly

I got this bug with the SP2 as well but not on the SP3. Now it's back on the SP4 (lol?) anyone know the fix?

Can... not... wait. Didn't used to have a problem, since 11/2 update it's a semi-regular thing that drives me nuts.
