Big Kudos to that Microsoft store. I've had very good success with my dealing with my local Microsoft store here in St. Louis. That's amazing that you bought it from an Amazon dealer and the store took it back and gave you a new one. Did it appear to be a brand new one in the original packaging when you got the first unit?

It appeared to be what it was sold as; a nearly new SP3. The box didn't look quite pristine. Tech never questioned it. He immediately replaced it with a new device. No questions asked. Kudos to Microsoft!
