If you travel with your Windows 10 Surface or PC, you may not want your email account to be publicly shown on the Login screen, especially if Windows Hello keeps it displayed for an elongated period, while waiting for your response.

For more privacy, you can stop Windows from displaying your name on the Login Screen.

CHOOSE WHETHER TO DISPLAY YOUR NAME ON WELCOME SCREEEN

If you have Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise editions:
1) Run command secpol.msc or search for and choose local security policy.
2) Find Security Options on the left, and find Interactive logon: Do not display last user name on the right. Enable or disable.

For all versions of Windows 10:
1) Run command regedit or search for and choose Windows Registry
2) Navigate to
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
3) Find dontdisplaylastusername and set the DWORD value to 0 (enable) or 1 (disable).

Note: You must have administrator privileges to change this setting.

I've been using this feature although I found that at times it just does whatever it wants. sometimes displays short name other times displays full email address. Another quirk for MS to iron out someday.
