Coming back from W10

Interesting dynamic. Perhaps they should never release a product... everyone loves it until its released then there's nothing but problems.
Only problem I had is the same problem that has been plaguing the SP3 since it's release, network issues. I love Windows 10 and want to go back to it but I have my network connection working, mostly, and I'm afraid to scare it.

I'm surprised anyone is using this as a daily driver outside of a VM, given how early it is and how Microsoft are openly key-logging everything you do.

I don't mean that to sound bad since they only ever said it is for testing and not for daily use, and getting that level of telemetry will make it a better product in the end. But anyone using it for daily use and putting confidential information through it ought to really re-think things...

Yeah, I would never use officially beta software as my daily driver...I just have it in a VHD file and can easily dual-boot between it and my main Windows 8.1.1 installation, while keeping access to my files in my main Windows 8.1.1 partition regardless which OS I'm in.

Its not Key logging every stroke and sending it to MS, it is sending telemetry and aggregate data. If you are in a HIPPA, DoD, Government or Financial Environment sure, don't do it but for many it is fine. Also there are wide spread TAPS running as well...

Current builds are sending a LOT more data back to Microsoft than the final release will. Whilst it will be good feedback for them anyone inputting confidential data into this early a version is a fool.

Microsoft themselves said they are sending keystrokes back to the mothership in order to improve autocorrect amongst other things.

True they are...but not everything, and it is specific situations. It has been sensationalized in the blogosphere to the point they make sound nefarious.

Yeah I certainly don't think its nefarious at all. In fact quite happy that they have baked in so much telemetry for these early stages as it should turn out to be the most consumer-orientated release yet in terms of matching what people want and how they want to use their device.

They've been very up front about how 10 shouldn't be people's main OS yet and how they are collecting a lot more data than the final release will, it just surprises me so many people are using it as a daily driver considering confidential info must be being put through it.

Hey ho as long a people are aware....

What are you doing on your SP3, that you are so afraid of MS seeing... Porn and homework isn't going to interest them too much. This is not the government spying on us... At worst you will get an email advertisement tailored to you...

Unfortunetly (or foutunetly depending on outlook) Porn Telemetry is very helpful to Microsoft as it seems to be a universal and global usecase for computing....and tends to be an attack vector for malware and adware...

Hahaha. Doesn't matter what I'm doing on my SP2, shouldn't be anyone's business, not even Microsoft's. But in the case of a Software in development, yes it should be their business, that's the essence of me using the development software...so, I avoid putting confidential information in such software.
