No batteries. It's just to dock your SP3 and have additional 5 USB ports and a minidisplay port. Of course it charges SP3 while docked.

I'm tempted to get this but since I don't use an external monitor I don't really see the need for this. I can always use a $10 usb hub if I ever need additional usb ports.

Included Network and Heaphones Port. So even if you don't have an external Monitor but LAN and External Speakers it might be nice.
Except that you cannot change the angle of the dock, can you?
