Energy saving while running music programs?

I have a question on running Spotify or similar programs on a surface.
So I wanted to have my surface running Spotify to listen music over my music station.
But I don't want the screen to be on all the time.. Is there a possibilty to turn off the Screen while still running spotify ? So I can still listen to my musik and save some energy ? Because at the moment the programm stops when I turn off the screen/go to standy by.

SP3 does not support screen time-out. When the screen is off, the device sleeps. I recommend using Xbox Music for radio stations as it's very power efficient.

However, if you enable Hyper-V, you may be able to have the screen time-out but you will no longer be able to use connected standby.
