Solved How do I reset back to the default startup screen?

Months ago when I first started using my Surface, I must've done something to configure it so that it would automatically open the desktop on startup. But now all the apps I wanna use are just the regular apps and not desktop apps. I want it to stop automatically opening the desktop. But I have no idea what I did or how to undo it.

Does anyone have a list of steps I could go through to figure this out?

Two steps:

1 - Right-click on the Windows 8.1 taskbar, then choose Properties.

2 - Click on the Navigation tab, then under the Start screen section, check the box next to "When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the desktop instead of Start."

Hope this helps. Let us know.
