[How-To] Block ads and tracking in IE

If you are like me, you hate ads in IE, especially if you are traveling. It slows the browser and uses bandwidth.

Unlike Firefox and Chrome, there was no simple way to block ads. IE9 changed it and I confirm it works on IE.

First, go here Internet Explorer Gallery

Then...well, that's it actually. Pick the list you want and you are done. Nothing to it.


I use EasyList myself. It seems to do pretty good.

Will it block ever ad? Not even close.
Will it block any? Definitely and every bit helps.

Great tip! Was doing blocking directly through HOSTS file, but that would break things like the ABC player app. This is a good compromise. Thanks!
