Ok, I am a Amazon Prime Member, and I don't like viewing thru I.E. There is a solution:

1. Add Windows 8.1 features thru control panel, 9.99 for Windows Media Center.

2. Install the Amazon Prime plugin for WMC: http://sharepointsnapple.com/amazonmceaddin/

3. Reboot the surface, and open up WMC, and scroll to the Amazon Prime addin.

4.Login with your Amazon Prime credentials.

5. note: make sure you have Silverlight installed.

6. Note: you might have to login to your Amazon Prime account in I.E. first if you get a error message.

I know its not a free app, but it works, I have a i3 verson, so it works great. Enjoy!

Perhaps you could explain what the difference is when viewing one way vs the other or post screen shots.

Interesting. How is battery with this solution? Using MUI IE and SP3 plugged into my TV through HDMI cable a 2.5 hour movie uses about 30-35% of my battery which I think is pretty good.

Battery life is good, I didn't notice any any large drain. I have been using this plugin on my HTPC for over a year. Works on windows 7 and 8, 8.1.
