keyboard cover needs restart to work

Not a big thing but a pain. Keyboard cover won't type password without restart of SP3. Cover is one from Microsoft with pen holder attached. I always shut down SP3 in settings. Thanks

Is this problem new on your SP3?
What OS?
Do you have a friend with a Type Cover? If so, borrow it for a moment, and see if the problem is your computer or the cover.

windows 10. My second SP3 did same thing on first one. Once in a great while, maybe 1 in 20 it will work fine..

Check the tiny contacts on your type cover magnetic connection. Some debris or oily residue builds up on it.

Whenever your clean your screen, clean those contacts too.
