New Docking Station Audio Driver is causing me problems

The update listed below is causing me problems. After installing it when I plug in my headset into the 3.5mm jack on the docking station it's not instantly recognized. I have to open up the volume control options and then it usually starts working.

Microsoft Docking Station Audio Device driver update (v1.31.35.7) improves the user experience while using the Surface Pro 3 Docking Station so that sound is available when a speaker is not connected to the docking station.
