New Firmware Update 9/29

I have to say, I've spent the morning trying to get in touch with someone at Microsoft that can provide a reasonable level of support. After a couple of hours of getting bounced around from one clueless tech with a poor connection and a basic grasp of english to another, repeatedly to the wrong department or to the end of the queue of the same department, I finally hung up in frustration.

Many of our employees have expressed interest in a Surface as their next device, but with both Surfaces we have currently taken down by these updates, and Microsoft unable to provide competent support, that seems increasingly unlikely.

On my PC I keep backups of the drives in case updates don't work out well. Would this method work for a firmware update on an SP3?

No, you're flashing the bios chip each time it successfully updates, among other things, so they can't be reverted back.
