What's new

No Power

I've just recently received a Surface as a gift and know nearly nothing about it. Right now I cannot get it to power on at all. Is there anything I can do or do I have to take it to Geek Squad? There is plenty of battery life and I've even had the battery charging when I attempted to turn it on the second time.

If it's brand new (never started before) I'd just attached the keyboard (if you have one), the power cable, and turn it on (press and release). If it is brand new it should go directly to Windows Setup. From there you will add your wifi and a Microsoft account. The Surface manual is here: http://www.surfaceforums.net/forum/microsoft-surface-faq-guides/3442-microsoft-surface-guide.html. Tech support is available here: Microsoft Surface support | Surface help and how-to | Surface setup and troubleshooting

Are you sure you are connecting the power cord correctly? If the little white led light doesn't come on, it isn't actually charging or connected for power.
