I'm guessing the vertical tablet mode is easier, but is the horizontal tablet mode a pain now?

It will be subjective. I've read and watched almost every review, be it professional, or user, and some find it annoying, others state that it is not an issue. It is something only you will be able to decide on. Much like some people saying its size make it a terrible tablet, others saying its size actually makes it a great tablet.

Agree, it depends on the user and use. In my case, I write a lot so the change is a blessing.
