I used the Sound Recorder in Windows 8 during a training course and it was pretty clear. I'd recommend using One Note though to keep things organized.

Noticed that there are several 3rd party app to record,
however, I can't find any record function in One Note.

Tried to use search charm, but resulted nothing.

just realize that one note in surface has no audio recording support.

OneNote 2013 RT

No audio recording or searching for words contained in embedded audio
No video recording or searching for words contained in embedded video
No importing images or documents from a scanner
Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 RT

Is there a way to record the srceen on surface rt???? any applications?

thanks

If you mean 'take a screenshot' you just have to touch the Windows button and volume down buttons at the same time. The screen will blink if you are successful. The pix will go to Picture Library > Screenshots.

i think it refers to audio recording.

I have installed pocket recorder for free, but the quality is below standard,
have no idea if it is a system or a hardware issue.

I tried a couple of Metro apps like Pocket Recorder that all seemed to work great...while I was in the app. As soon as tried to do something else, they stopped recording. Now, I just use the standard sound recorder app from the desktop. This runs in the background just fine. It lacks the flashy UI but gets the job done.
