Looks like a pretty inactive forum here these days. But I have to wave a banner.
My display would look like someone was pressing the touch screen on the lower left corner, about half of the time. That pretty much made it useless until it would recover. So I ordered a replacement off of Ebay, replacement tape, and a 1Tb SSD. I cloned the SSD, and I started tearing into it. The display of course exploded trying to get it untaped. I literally spent three partial days getting it cleaned up. I slightly damaged and repaired a WiFi patch antenna on the top edge. But it slowly came together, and everything worked perfectly.

This is my preferred tool with the size and features that I like. It was a pricey fix, with the SSD upgrade, but I think I will get a good number of years out of it yet.
