Sorry I don't agree, you run the thing flat out, it's going to use battery. the better question is why are you doing that work on battery in the first place.

"With adaptive brightness set to about half intensity (the screen is really bright, so you shouldn’t need more) and Wi-Fi on, a day spent mostly in the touch interface netted me around 8-10 hours of use."
8-10 hours with normal use.
6-7 hours using Chrome
4-5 doing heavy graphics.

Seems reasonable to me.
