SP3 (256) connecting to 4k TV

I've purchased a Samsung 40" UHD 4k TV and connected it to my Surface Pro 3 (256mg version w/ Intel 5000 display adaptor). The Display was recognized and shows support up to 4096 x 2160. Those setting seem to work initially; however, the Samsung blinks to black when there is screen activity. My cables are all new and support the latest HDMI standards.

It seems that the SP3 supports the display capabilities; when the display settings are reduced to 1920 x 1080 the blinking stops.

I'm convinced this is not a cable issue; this leaves the SP3, MS Docking station or the Samsung as the weak link. I'm praying it's not my SP3.. I love the dang thing... Any suggestions?

TommyLGrundy, this sounds like it could be an issue with the Intel Graphics driver that might be fixed with newer drivers. Can you try downloading the very latest driver HD Graphics 5000 driver in zip form? https://downloadcenter.intel.com/co...48/a08/win64_15367.zip&Lang=eng&Dwnldid=24348

Then follow the installation directions steps 3-4 per this guide: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/danchar/arc...on-with-surface-pro-3-dpi-scaling-tweaks.aspx
You can skip step 5-8.

Let us know if the behavior changes with the new driver.

Turns out that the Samsung TV did not support the resolution; HDMI sync issues. Returned the TV bought a Dell U3415W.. Problem solved..
