Hey guys, there don't seem to be many 3rd-party power adapters with the new "fin" connector for SP3 out yet. There are dozens of generic options for the SP1/SP2/RT surfaces all over ebay, amazon, alibaba, etc.. Here is what I've found so far for SP3. Please post anything new and I'll add it to the list:

Alibaba to the rescue with 3 options!

I think the universal cable is a slam dunk. Would have to open up the power brick itself to see which components are used to compare quality to the name brand unit. Measuring the weight of the unit is a good indicator of quality, so if it weighs within a few grams of the name-brand unit, I bet its decent. If its significantly lighter, its probably crap.

Folks in Washington State will need to pay with Paypal and perhaps change their "State" to Washington D.C. rather than "Washington" to get around alibaba/aliexpress ordering via escrow restrictions. Best to contact the seller directly to ensure they accept paypal and will ship to you otherwise your order may be cancelled without notice.

I ended up buying a used, genuine extra power brick from Amazon for my Surface Pro 1. Not risking frying the device or burning down my house seemed worth the extra money. It was more expensive than the cheap knockoffs, but less expensive than a new one. I do not regret my decision.
