Start menu broken and disk corrupt?

Hi all,

new to the forums, but been reading for a long time.

I got my SB yesterday, was very excited. Got the thing home and followed the advice of installing the windows updates immediately.

Once i did this and rebooted, i could no longer click on the start menu (or press the start button). All the task bar was unresponsive, i could click on windows explorer which allowed me to get into the control panel. I tried to complete a system restore, but the disk is in error. Looks like im stuck as i cant do a whole lot.

I contacted microsoft and have an appointment today with my local store.

Should i ask for a swap out?

Not until they have looked at it. It may have been an issue with the update. There should have been several, with multiple restarts.
