Surface Pro 4 laptop speakers crackling when turned off

Surface Pro 4, which is 9 months old, started making a crackling noise from the speakers particularly when powered off. Had a replacement unit which was returned faulty and am now getting the same problem with the third unit. It does not affect my usage but I am concerned that it may become worse as time goes by and, most likely out of warranty.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so how was it rectified?

@KeithP,
@world_of_payne ,

There is a possibility that the speakers (actually, a component of the speakers providing amplification) is actually clicking due to WiFi interference, from a local router, or router or repeater in the vicinity of your SPro4.

Please try this and report back:
- Change the broadcast channel of your WiFi router
- Test whether your Surface Pro 4 does this from another location (café, etc.).

Tried many possible solutions to no avail. Now I just turn the volume off before I power off :-(
