Great! Nice that that worked out. So, how are you doing on unbricking it?

Yeah just fully reformatted the whole thing and now has successfully installed to windows 10 already. Although the surface pro heats up even on idle mode, is that normal?

Yes. Win10 does lots of things in the background after just being installed. It may be installing updates, syncing OneDrive, deleting temporary files; it's best to let it run all night and it eventually should quite down and run cool.
